  • Brier’s Beach: Ensures free, public access to Unity Pond while utilizing best practices for lake shore development and maintenance.
  • Community Boat Building & Sailing: Teaches the art of boatbuilding and sailing to youth and other community members.
  • Community Gym & Fitness Center: Located in the Community Center, the Fitness Center is continually used by community members to maintain healthy lifestyles.
  • CommUnity Trails: Four miles of scenic paths provide access to recreational opportunities and safe, alternative transportation.
  • Community Meals: These monthly gatherings bring the community together to celebrate while sharing healthy food made from locally grown products.
  • Downtown Enhancements: Renovated buildings, off-street parking, and the addition of trees and other plantings enhance Unity’s sense of community.
  • Energizing a Community: Mobilizing the community to tackle tough problems related to the cost of fuel, energy efficiency, energy independence, economic security, conservation, and related public health issues head on and aggressively through short, intermediate and long-term goals.
  • Holiday Parties: Annual community gatherings such as a Holiday Party with Santa, Community Egg Hunt, Halloween Spooktacular, and New Year’s Gala bring the community together.
  • Neighbor Warming Neighbor: The first initiative of Energizing a Community, this program is focused on encouraging and ensuring the weatherization of all homes in our eight-town area.
  • Triplet Park: This downtown park, in memory of young, autistic triplets and a firefighter who tragically lost their lives in a housefire, includes gardens and walking paths, and serves as a hands-on natural classroom.
  • Unity Community Center: Unity’s former Masonic Hall was renovated and enlarged to create a Community Center that is used daily. The Community Gym & Fitness Center and the Barn Raisers' office are located here.
  • Unity Market Day: Saturdays from May through November hum with activity as local farmers and artisans offer their products at the Community Center. Weekly children’s programs have included puppetmaking and birdhouse building.
  • Youth Leadership: Four Youth Advisors on the Unity Barn Raisers’ Board of Directors ensure youth leadership training and self-advocacy opportunities.
